"Ex Merchant Navy Radio Officer. Qualified with a general MPT certificate in 1975. Left in 1987 due to redundancy and eventually set up my own security and maintenance business in Edinburgh which I've run for 30 years. Lockdown gave me time to study for foundation. Radio has changed a lot from my days with Marconi and my main mode of operation is DMR but still enjoy working 2 meters (particularly SOTA)."
