My XYL Shirley joined me as a foundation license holder, after 22 years as a SWL with the call sign M7PSJ
I am active on HF most SSB with an ICOM 7300 and full-sized G5RV, we have a small bungalow so the ends of the G5RV wrap around the back garden fencing at 2m above the ground. Operating 2m/70cm is challenging as the 7 yrs old housing association bungalow was built in sections which although well insulated are also lined with aluminium, so in effect we are in a faraday cage ;(
I have renewed my interest in digital modes and getting to grips with DMR, DSTAR, FUSION & NXDN. Using the Anytone D878uvII plus HT or a Retevis RT3S, operating mainly mobile with a DV-MEGA EURO-NODE.
The other challenge is rewriting my D878UVII+ code plug from scratch, after watching numerous YouTube videos and with the help of a knowledgeable young fellow radio amateur. The code plug is setup to access both the Brandmeister
